Stook Ten Mile Road Race Lotto
Stook Ten Mile Road Race will be held on 18th November 2012 with the base being Dungarvan Church, Gowran, Co. Kilkenny. The event is hosted by Gowran AC in association with Young Irelands GAA Club.
10 Mile Road Race Set over an challenging but enjoyable 10-mile route, the Stook Ten is the end-of-year road race challenge you’ve been waiting for. Offering a chance to experience some of Kilkenny’s most beautiful scenery, the Stook Ten winds across gentle valleys and up country roads before emerging at the crest of Stook Hill. With stunning views down to the finish, every participant will be rewarded with a super fast 2.5 miles of continuous downhill to the finish line in Dungarvan village. We aim to offer a friendly and enjoyable experience to runners of all abilities, and every participant will get to enjoy our club hospitality. In addition to the accurate course (jone counter measured), chip timing, online results and water stations you’d expect from a club organised race – there will be individual, category and team prizes on offer. Entry fee is €20.00 The race starts from Dungarvan Church, 3 miles south of Gowran village, which is 15 minutes drive from J7 on the M9 motorway. There will be changing facilities, refreshments, sandwiches and cake for all in the parish hall afterwards! All proceeds from the race go to the juvenile members of Gowran AC and Young Ireland’s GAA Club.
5K Dash/Fun Walk If your more of a sprinter, unable to run all 10 miles or just interested in a fun walk don't worry! We also have a 5km dash/fun walk. Starting and finishing from the same place as the 10 mile race the 5k loop takes in much the same beautiful scenery without the same steep hills. The 5km dash/fun walk is a guaranteed enjoyable day out, why not bring the kids? Under 12's are free with entry fee for the the dash/walk costing just €10.
