Kilmainhamwood first team is finding the going tough in Division 3 of the league and gained another moral victory while suffering defeat to Ratoath on Sunday 13th May at their well appointed home pitch. The gale force win made handling difficult but it was the same for both teams. The ‘Wood played with the wind in the first half but the speedy Ratoath forwards were gaining the upper hand and they brought a 0-05 to 0-01 lead to the break. The second half was better as Kilmainhamwood upped the ante and put it up to their big-town visitor. The ‘Wood got within a goal of their illustrious opponents but just couldn’t get their noses in-front. On a brighter note it was great to see Stephen Smith play his first full game in a while and come through relevantly unscathed … his sore hand will heal.
