On Saturday 21st August Kilmainhamwood took part in an U-8 Celebrity Bainisteoir at Castletown and were delighted to be coached by Meath legend Joe Sheridan. Joe offered expert advise and the young stars were in awe of the big man.
There were 3 group games and then a final. Kilmainhamwood won their 3 group games without conceding a single score. They were beaten in the final by Rathkenny 4 points to 3. They all got presented with a certificate by Joe Sheridan and a photo of the presentation.
Calum Crosbie started in goal and was solid all day kicking over the half-way line with each kick-out.
The five defenders were Dean Carolan, Ordhan Keogan, Killian Plunkett, Kaylum Galvin-Russell & Cian Murphy. Dean Carolan was Match of the Match in every game and Joe Sheridan was very impressed. Ordhan, Killian, Kaylum & Cian were solid all day too.
The five forward were Jonathan Reilly, Niall Conlon, Keith Reilly, Sean Bennett & Eoin Rooney. Jonathan Reilly & Niall Conlon were brilliant all day too while Keith, Sean & Eoin played very well too.
It is a team game and all the subs got a run at during the group games and all played well when needed ... Oisin Reilly, Eoin Rooney, Max Farrelly, Katelyn Russell, Jack Murphy, Darragh Homan, Lauren Stafford, Keeffe Carolan, Ryan Stafford, Owen Finegan. Killian Russell is injuried with a broken collar bone but supported the team all day.
There is U-8 & U-10 training on Tuesday night at 7pm.
There is an U-10 game on Thursday evening in Carolanstown.
There is an U-8 / U-10 Go Games blitz in Nobber on Saturday.
Kilmainhamwood took on Castletown on Sunday 22nd of August at 1pm in Nobber is a relagation play-off and won by 4 points.
