Health and Wellbeing – Match Day Health Check
Today Saturday May 21st during the Senior Men’s game against our neighbours Truagh Gaeils, we are hosting a health check with the Irish Heart Foundation, commencing at 2:15pm. This involves blood pressure being taken by nurses in a dedicated space near the turnstile entrances in Páirc Mhuire. It’s to encourage people to look after themselves particularly after the pandemic with a emphasis on raising awareness on having regular checkups and preventive healthcare which had declined in its frequency during the lockdown. So come along and get your pressure taken while at the league game this Saturday.
Scotstown GAA is going for the Healthy Club project which aims to help GAA clubs explore how they support the holistic health of their members and the communities they serve. This is a timely initiative for a post Covid-19 world and we look forward to the Healthy Club project in our future and recovery from the pandemic. As we now enter the summer months and the football is up and running, we will be implementing Healthy initiatives such as the checkup initiative this weekend and we will update everyone as these happen.
