Code of Conduct for Parent/Guardians

CODE OF ETHICS FOR PARENTS

It is the intention of this code to promote fair and safe play and respect for all participants in
Malahide Hockey Club

I hereby pledge to provide positive support, care, and encouragement for my child participating in hockey by following this Parents’ Code of Ethics:
I WILL

1. Respect the rules and procedures set down in Malahide Hockey Club.
2. Respect my child’s teammates and leaders as well as players, parents and coaches from opposing teams. Parents will encourage their child to treat other participants, coaches, children’s officers, officials, selectors and managers with respect.
3. Give Encouragement and applaud only positive accomplishments whether from my child, his/her teammates, their opponents or the officials.
4. Respect my child’s leader(S) and support his/her efforts
5. Respect the officials and their authorities during sessions and events within the club and under the auspices of the Irish Hockey Association
6. Never demonstrate threatening or abusive behaviour or use foul language.
7. Support coaches and officials working with my child, in order to encourage a positive and enjoyable experience for all.

I agree to abide by the rules and procedures of Malahide Hockey Club and in particular the Guidelines and Code of Conduct for parents.
