Senior Championship Rd5 V  Abbeylara

With group placements predetermined before this game, both sides had nothing to play for but still put on an entertaining game for the supporters in attendance. Killoe got off to a dreadful start with the concession of two early goals which gave Abbeylara a commanding position for the first half. Killoe eventually began to get points on the board and by halftime were only 3 points behind despite the concession of a third goal. In the second half Abbeylara went 7 points ahead after scoring two further goals and looked to have secured the win with 10 minutes to spare. Killoe didn’t give up though and goals from Cian Farrelly & Mark Hughes brought the sides level in the closing stages. Unfortunately a win wasn’t to be as Abbeylara converted a short free to take home the win despite Killoe missing a free from distance with the last kick of the game. The team now  move on to play Longford Slashers in the Championship Quarter Final in two weeks time. Time & Date to be confirmed.
