U19 Championship Win

Congratulations to our U19 team who claimed the championship in a thrilling win over Clonguish Óg in what was one of the best games in Pearse Park this year. Killoe started the game very brightly kicking some great scores while our defence held tight to limit the Clonguish attack. Bernard Borland scored the first goal of the game with a great ball over the top finding him free infront of goal. Killoe went into the break 4 points to the good with Paddy Moran getting the last point before the break. Killoe registered a second goal early in the second half when Gavin Farrellys looping shot found its way into to the top corner of the Clonguish net. Further scores from Cillian Feeney and Paddy Moran gave Killoe a commanding lead but Clonguish showed their quality late on and rallied well, converting a number of points as well as getting two goals, one from a penalty. Both sides were even with 2-9 apiece at the end of normal time, ensuring another 20 minutes of exciting football would ensue. Clonguish had just taken the lead when Paddy Moran got the ball on the run, cruising past the Clonguish defenders and slotting home a fantastic goal to put Killoe in front again. Clonguish werent giving up though, and were beginning to claw back the lead when a brilliant ball found Shane Dooner on the edge of the square and he made no mistake in slotting home our 4th goal. Paddy Moran rounded off the victory with another point to leave the full time score reading Killoe Óg 4-10 Clonguish Óg 3-10. Well done to the team and management for all the hard work and commitment over the last number of weeks. Commiserations to Clonguish who put in a great display of football despite the defeat.

Seasons Greetings:

We would like to take this opportunity to wish all our players, management, club members and supporters a very happy Christmas and all the best for 2022.

Kind Regards
