Welcome to this week's e-zine

SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIPS: Both our senior footballers and hurlers kick off their championship campaigns in the coming days. Our hurlers face Arklow in Aughrim at 1:30 pm this Sunday while our footballers face off against Avondale on 8th June at 5:30 in Arklow. All support appreciated.

LOTTO: And it goes on! There was no winner of this week’s lotto draw as the total careers to €10,000. The winning numbers were 2, 3, 19 and 23. Next week’s jackpot is €9,800 if you fancy a punt. https://www.locallotto.ie/play.asp?Clb=1&LL_ID=785&PC=0

U12 FOOTBALL: Our Under 12 Footballers have had a flying start to the year. They have been back in training every Friday since February and have four excellent games under their belts already. In the 2 x 11 aside game format (used to ensure maximum player participation), they have had excellent wins over Bray Emmets, Donard/Glen and An Tóchar. They also made the long trip to Baltinglass where they acquitted themselves excellently – winning one of the games and going down to a very strong Baltinglass outfit in the other.

U12 HURLING: The Under 12 hurlers have also been back training every Friday since February (Gaelic Football at 6.20pm and Hurling at 7.15pm). This is a very dedicated group of lads with some talented hurlers among them and with some who have taken up hurling a little bit later but who are gradually getting to grips with the range of skills required. We have been somewhat unfortunate to have been placed in a group with the strongest teams in the county and this has meant that results haven’t gone our way thus far. However, these defeats have not caused the lads to lose heart and they have shown great battling qualities. They acquitted themselves particularly well in their games against Bray Emmets, Aughrim and Carnew. Next up is Glenealy (away) on the June Bank Holiday Monday.
