Welcome to this week’s club news
JUNIOR FOOTBALL: Football team, who enjoyed an impressive victory at home against Knockananna in the Division 3 league. After a hard-fought first half there was little between the teams either in play or on the scoreboard, and the Éire Óg advantage at the break was a slender and seemingly fragile lead of a single point. However, the team that took to the pitch after manager Ed Davis’s rousing half-time address was re-energised and refocused and put in a second-half performance that gave management and supporters much to celebrate.

U16 HURLING: Another team putting in winning performances is the u16 Éire Óg Greystones/Kilcoole combined hurling team. The first game of the school holidays was against Glenealy, in Glenealy. The effect of the break from competitive action was evident in the first half, and scores were hard to come by in the opening period. However, a goal by Glenealy to wipe out a narrow lead by the North Wicklow combined team was to incite the Éire Óg/Kilcoole players to action.
GOLF CLASSIC Finally, another year has passed and so there is another Éire Óg Golf Classic to look forward to. This year’s event is to take place on Friday the 29th of July in Greystones golf club.
