There was no winner of the weekly club lotto. The numbers drawn were 5-8-32, next week´s draw will take place in The Leap Inn with a jackpot of €1,600.
The Castlehaven U21 team picked up the first silver ware of the year for the club, when they won The Glenville Tournament last Saturday. They beat Mallow in the final at Macroom. The game was full of drama and had some great passages of attacking football. Both teams kicking some fine scores and missed chances over the hour. Castlehaven started with purpose and got an early goal to lead at half time by 1-06pts to 1-04pts. Mallow dominated the second half and scored two quick goals to lead by 0-04pts. with fifteen minutes remaining. Castlehaven regained their composure, got a vital goal to cut the deficit to 0-01pt. Castlehaven kicked 3 late points to win the match by 2-11 pts. to 3-07pts. Jonathan Burns accepted the cup on behalf of the team. The Castlehaven senior team continued their unbeaten run in the league with a good win over Valley Rovers at home last Thursday night. Valley Rovers started the match brightly and scored some great points to lead by 0-03pts. after ten minutes. Castlehaven improved as the half progressed to lead at half time by 0-06pts. to 0-04 pts. The second half was a very competitive affair with both teams having moments of dominance. Castlehaven kicked some fine late points to win the game by 0-11pts to 0-05 pts. The Castlehaven minor team have drawn Midleton and the U14 team Mallow for the 2015 championship.
The first of the club´s monthly draw is on next Sunday 1st, anyone interested in buying a ticket can contact any member of the committee.
