There was no winner of the weekly club lotto. The numbers drawn were 2-18-34, next week´s draw will take place in Annie Mays with a jackpot of €2,750. The Club dinner dance last Saturday night in The West Cork Hotel was a very enjoyable occasion. The club honoured The 1989 Munster and County winning team, Eamonn Ryan, Nollaig Cleary and John Joe Kelly on the night. Carbery board Chairman John Corcoran commenced the proceeding on the night. He gave an excellent speech, giving a detailed account of the importance of the 1989 county teams victory for Cork and Carbery football. He congratulate Eamonn Rayn and Nollaig Cleary on their outstanding achievement winning 9 All Ireland titles. Andy Whelton underage chairman and Marie O Driscoll ladies chairman gave detailed accounts of their respective clubs during the year. Eamonn Ryan did a question and answer session, he spoke with passion about his enjoyment he gets from coaching teams. He paid a great tribute to The Castlehaven club and Nollaig Cleary on their contribution to football in Cork. Nollaig made a presentation to Eamonn on behalf of the club. Club Chairman Christy Collins spoke about the past year and about the further development of the club on and off the field. He congratulated special guest Eamonn Ryan and Nollaig Cleary on winning the Ladies All Ireland title. He said the 89 team was the 1st team to win a senior county for the club after years of heart breaking defeats and they showed the way for other rural clubs to win titles. He paid special tribute to John Joe Kelly about his playing career and the important contribution he made coaching teams during the 1970s. The club went from junior B to senior during that period. Christy made a presentation to John Joe from the club .John Joe thanked everyone and spoke of the great years he had with the club. He wished the club all the best in the future. Larry Tompkins introduced the 89 panel and Eamonn Ryan made a presentation to each player. Larry thanked the club the players & coaches and said he had some great days playing with Castlehaven and met some great people. B O’Neill entertained the patrons with wonderful renditions of different songs during the meal. The night finished with everyone enjoying the dancing and singing. The junior 1 mgt team for the 2015 season is B Maguire, M O’Mahony, V O’Callaghan, F Shanahan & B O’Neill. The junior 3 management team for 2015 season is D Buckley, F Cahalane and E Buckley. Glenville U21 Tournament The U21 team had a win over a much depleted Nemo Rangers last Friday night at home . It was a very good game of attacking football ,with both teams enjoying periods of dominance . Castlehaven finished the game strongly f to win by 1-11pts. to 0-07pts. They now play Carbery Rangers at home this weekend in the next round check the club website or on twitter for the fixture.
