A youthful Castlehaven Junior 1 team lost to Barryroe in the championship on Saturday night. A physically stronger Barryroe team played with a strong wind for the first half and lead at half time by 0-08pts to 0-02pts. Castlehaven tried bravely for the second half, but found it difficult to get scores and Barryroe ran out deserving winners by 0-10pts.to 0-04pts. The minors opened their non exam league campaign on Tuesday of last week when Kilmeen were the visitors to Union Hall. The home side played some great football in the first half to lead at half time, on a scoreline of Castlehaven 1-9 Kilmeen 0-2. They continued their dominance in the second half to run out winners on a scoreline of 3-19 to 0-4.

The U14s continued their league campaign on Friday night when Urhan were the visitors to Union Hall. In a game played in atrocious conditions both sides served up an outstanding contest with the visitors leading at half time on a scoreline of 4-2 to 1-6. The Haven kicked some great scores in the second half and led by 3 points with time up but Urhan struck for a late goal to leave the game tied on a scoreline of Castlehaven 3-11 Urhan 5-5.

Colm O Driscoll and Michael Hurley played very well for the Cork minors in their victory over Waterford in the championship, they can now look forward to the Munster final against Kerry.
