The club had many great victories in county finals down through the years, but last Sundays win will rank up with the very best. They became the first team from the club to win consecutive titles and beat Nemo Rangers in the final who are the kingpins of club football in Ireland. The game was played in the right spirit and had all the skills of Gaelic football. The players got a great welcome home on Sunday night from a big crowd of supporter in Union Hall. The club Chairman Christy Collins, Manager Finbarr Santry, Niall Cahalane and captain Sean Cahalane all made speeches and thanked everyone for their support over the years. The players and supporters celebrated this great win late into the night.
It was great to meet people who travel from all over Ireland and over seas at the county final, we would like to thank them for their support.
The U16 team drew with Ilen Rovers in the Western A final in Leap on
Saturday evening. In a low scoring game the teams were level at half time 4pts. each. Rovers played the better football over the hour ,but our lads showed tremendous character, to score three late points to draw the game 7pts. each.
