Castlehaven GAA Club lotto results: There was no winner of the jackpot last weekend when the numbers drawn were 2-13-40. Consolation prizes were won by D O Donovan, Chris Whelton, and MJ O'Donoghue. Next week’s jackpot will be €7,600 on Monday 11th April. The Castlehaven senior team welcomed St. Finbarrs to Moneyvollahane for a league last Sunday morning. It was another cracking game between two excellent teams. Both teams had a lot of new faces with players missing due to intercounty commitments. Castlehaven started excellently scoring some fine points to lead after 15 minutes by 0-07pts to 1-01pts. Castlehaven kept adding on the points but the Barrs stayed in touch with another goal. Castlehaven lead at half by 0-13pts to 2-02pts. The Barrs came into the game after the break scoring a 3rd goal to let a point between the sides. Castlehaven never panicked scoring the next 4pts to lead by 5 pts. The Barrs went all-out attack but Castlehaven defended brilliantly. With 15 minutes remaining Castlehaven broke up the field and scored a brilliant goal. The Barrs never gave up but Castlehaven held on to win by Castlehaven 1-21 St. Finbarrs 3-09pts. A top performance by the Haven and a special mention to the young players. It was a cracking game of Junior football with both sets of forwards on top. The game was from end to end with both sides creating plenty of chances. The visitors won the game after the break when they went 9 pts up. Castlehaven rallied to cut the deficit to 2 pts. But Ballinascarthy held on to win the game by full-time Castlehaven 3-08pts to Ballinascarthy 1-18pts. The physically stronger visitors side started very well creating plenty of chances to lead by 0-03pts to 0-01pts after 15 minutes. Castlehaven rallied and the teams were level at half time 0-03pts each. Castlehaven won the match after the break. They scored two vital goals to lead by 6 pts. Rockban went all-out attack and pinned Castlehaven back. They scored a goal to cut the deficit to 1 pt. Castlehaven showed tremendous character to hold on and win by 1 pt.
