ACFL Division 4

Our Division 4 team travelled to Multyfarnham for the third round of the league on Sunday afternoon, but were well beaten by a strong home team by a scoreline of 6-15 to 2-5.

Congratulations

Congratulations to the Westmeath Senior Football team who won promotion to Division 3 of the Allianz NFL by beating Wexford on Sunday, especially to the Athlone GAA representatives on the panel - Noel Mulligan, John Egan, Alan Gaughan, John Connellan and Jordan Marshment.  Best of luck in the last league game against London on Sunday and in final against Wexford in Croke Park the following weekend.



Congratulations also to Alan Gaughan (again!), former player Eoghan O'Reilly and our neighbours at Buccaneers RFC on their promotion to Division 1A of the UBL.



Leinster LGFA will be launching SPIN A TON in aid of Westmeath Ladies in the Town Centre this Saturday 1st April at 3pm.  Come along and support all the Athlone Girls.



 



Mass

Many thanks to former player, Monsignor John Roche, who celebrated mass for our deceased members in the club on Friday night.  Thanks also to everybody who attended on the night and to those who worked so hard preparing the hall and making refreshments for afterwards.



Underage Football

Underage football for boys & girls age 4-12 continues on Sunday at 11.30am.  New players always welcome. Come along or contact David O'Connell at 087 2397519.  Club gear will also be on sale in the Clubhouse between 11am-1pm.  See www.athlone.gaa.ie for more details.



Membership

Membership 2017 is now due and can be paid online at www.athlone.gaa.ie   Membership can also be paid in the Clubhouse on Sunday morning between 11am-1pm.  Life members can also collect their membership cards.
