The numbers drawn on Monday night were 3, 7, 23, 28. There was no winner. There were 4 “match three’s”: Andrew Quinn, Emer Cooney, Nora Quinn, Fr Pat Kenny. The sellers’ prize went to Fergal Connaire, Gerry McGrath Tyres &  The Harbour Bar. The next draw for a jackpot of €9,400 takes place in Gallaghers on Monday, February 26.

MEMBERSHIP

The 2024 membership of Sarsfields GAA Club is now due. Membership plays a vital part in ensuring the Club’s continued success and development.

The annual membership rates for 2024 are as follows

● Adult Non-player: €50

● Youth membership ( *Born on or after Jan 1st 2006* ): €35 for 1 child / €65 for 2 children / €70 for 3 or more children from same family. Note all Youth members must have one adult/guardian registered with the club.

● All-in Adult Player Club and Gym Membership:€150

The primary benefits of membership are:

● Entry into draws for the right to purchase All Ireland, intercounty and other match tickets

● Seasonal draws for various prizes.

● Social events and seminars organised by club

● Access to members only whatsapp (opt in) with regular updates on club activities.

Membership can be renewed in 3 easy steps:

1. Login to foireann.ie (use existing account if you have one)

2. Add Sarsfields GAA Club as your club (if it not already added)

3. Go to membership and register as a member under the Option (s) that suit you best.

CAMOGIE

The Galway senior camogie team show two changes from the side that beat Clare last week, for Saturday’s (24th February 2024) game against Tipperary in Division 1A of the Very National Camogie League in The Ragg at 3pm

Ballindereen’s Fiona Ryan starts in goal, replacing Laura Freeney; while Athenry’s Dervla Higgins comes into the defence instead of Katie Manning.

The team in full:

Fiona Ryan in goal;

A full back line of Ava Crowe, captain Róisín Black and Dervla Higgins;

Rachael Hanniffy, Siobhán Gardiner and Ciara Hickey are the half backs;

Ally Hesnan partners Aoife Donohue in midfield;

Carrie Dolan, Ailish O’Reilly and Niamh McPeake are on the ’40;

And an inside line of Siobhán McGrath, Orlaith McGrath and Niamh Niland.

IN NATIONAL NEWS

The Camogie Association, the GAA and the LGFA have revealed 2027 as the proposed date for their plans for full  integration between the three organisations. 

Over the past 18 months the views of members and officials across  all three associations have been sought and following detailed  discussions in the period since, 2027 has been earmarked as the  proposed date for completion of the process. 

The Steering Group for Integration, chaired by former Uachtarán  na hÉireann Mary McAleese, has been charged with devising  proposals which will be put to the membership of the three  organisations with a view to full integration. 

In the coming weeks the Annual Congresses of the three bodies  will be updated on the work of the last year and a half and plans  for the next 36 months.

Members of the three organisations can expect to see progress  across the following areas in the three-year window ahead:

· Joint Fixtures Review Workgroup

· A detailed audit of existing facilities 

· Facilities Equal access policy implementation 

· National Childrens Office 

· Updated One Club Guidance and Support and significant adoption  of this model 

· One Membership 

· One Injury benefit fund 

· One Staffing structure
