Football News
Our Juvenile AGM was held last Friday January 9th in the Clubhouse, and while there was not much change at the top table with David Cox and Brendan McNeela being returned as Chairperson and Secretary, it was great to see a very large number of new faces interested in getting involved in coaching. A special word of thanks was extended to former Juvenile Chairperson, Liam Hynes, who stepped down as Chairperson of the senior club recently.
Cumann Peile Mhaigh Cuilinn are delighted to host Galway Senior Footballers v GMIT next Sunday January 18th in the 3rd round of the FBD League. It will be a very interesting game with Maigh Cuilinn's former Manager Sean O'Dea managing GMIT & Killannin's Kevin Walsh managing Galway. Throw in is at 2pm so be sure and come down and support all the lads. Its a great opportunity for the young children in the parish to meet their heroes.
The football club will run a Heartsaver/AED course at the Clubhouse on the 7th of February. It will run from 8:45 until 1 and will be certified. This is a very important course and a motion was passed at the Juvenile AGM that at least one person from each coaching team should have this course completed. Our Juvenile AGM is on this Saturday January 17th in the Clubhouse at 7.30pm. This is a great opportunity to get involved and help out with the future of Maigh Cuilinn Hurling. See you there !
