Weekend Results:

The U16 team came up against a strong Salthill/Knocknacarra side in the League final, where although Moycullen managed to grab three goals it was Salthill's superior ability to take points that proved the difference. Moycullen have an immediate opportunity to gain some revenge as the two sides meet again in the first round of the Championship.

Goals featured prominently in Sunday's Senior league game as Moycullen drew with Monivea Abbey on a scoreline of 4-07 to 2-13.

Friday sae the completion of a very successful Cúl Camp with over 80 children attending.

Hurling News

There were some good results in the last week. The U16's won away in Mountbellew on a scoreline of 4-13 to 2-09 maintaining their 100% record for the season so far. The team is assured of a semi-final spot with two games remaining in the group stages.

Our Minors had an even more comprehesive win on Saturday at home to Carnmore who were table toppers at that point. The 1-21 to 2-06 win keeps their Championship hopes alive but with three wis and three losses, a first away win in the final game against Abbeyknockmoy will be essential to progress.

Last night the U13 team had a fine away win against Cappataggle Their position is similar to that of the Minors in that they probably need to beat group leaders Liam Mellowes in the last game to make the semi-finals. Unllike the Minor team most of the u13 success has been away and the margins in most games have been 3/4 points or less, so there is a lot play for against Liam Mellowes next Monday in Baile Doite.

Liam Mellowes looms large before that when the Senior team meet them in the final Relegation Qualifier in Pearse Stadium at 12pm. Mágh Cuilinn are already in the relegation deciders in September but can in theory gain a higher seeding with a win. Liam Mellowes, however, can secure an escape if they can win by more than four points.

Monday next also sees the start of the Annual Hurling Campa Samhradh
