Mágh Cuilinn were defeated in their Senior Qualifier versus Athenry in Pearse Stadium on Saturday. Two goal salvos in each half were body blows the team could not recover from, although they recovered to 3 point from 7pts in arrears by halftime and having gone 9 points adrift in the second were pushing for the goal to draw the match and keep their qualifier hopes alive when Athenry grabbed the insurance point.
Mágh Cuilinn Juniors played their B championship against Tynagh Abbey Duniry, who had beaten both of Mágh Cuilinn's previous opponents, on Sunday evening in Oranmore. While the three point defeat was disappointing, the competitive performance against strong opposition was encouraging for a team coming up from C grade
Our U13's home game against Oranmore/Maree takes place tonight (Tuesday) as they try to make it 3 wins from 4 and on Thursday the U16 are at home to Annaghdown hoping to maintain their 100% record. On Saturday, the Minors face an away trip to Killimor. With two wins and two losses a result is required to keep in contention.
