Mayoral Award - Seamus Davis.
Boyne RFC are delighted that one of our founding members, Seamus Davis, has been rewarded by our Mayor, Cllr Kevin Callan and the Drogheda District Council for his contribution to rugby and his community during his lifetime..
Boyne RFC President, Mr John Hennessy says; "This is indeed an overdue and well deserved honour for Seamus Davis, a person to whom we are all deeply indebted in Boyne Rugby Club for the immense contribution he has given to the club over the years. His foresight and tremendous influence during the formation of Boyne RFC has led to enormous success and brought the club to where it is today. We share with his devoted family in celebrating the conferral of this Civic recognition for his lifetime's work and contribution to rugby, sport and his community".
Our picture shows the two Seamie's, Davis and Briscoe, receiving an award from the Drogheda Independent marking the foundation of Boyne RFC back in 1997.

Congratulations to Dylan Lynch, Boyne U20s player, on being selected for the Leinster Rugby 20s (combined Schools & Youths) Summer Programme.

Training will take place in the Leinster Centre of Excellence in Donnybrook, 4 days per week.

We wish Dylan all the best for the Summer Programme and continued progression and success.

Youth Coordinator Appointment:

After 6 years in the role of Boyne Youth Coordinator, and with his squad now moving from U’18 up to our adult U’20 team, Sean Rochford will step away from the Boyne Youth Coordinator role. Sean has overseen the growth of underage rugby in Boyne for over 12 years, having held the position of club Minis Rugby Coordinator prior to taking up the Youth Coordinator role. On behalf of everyone in Boyne and all our underage players, I would like to thank Sean for his enormous contribution to our club during his time in both roles. We are delighted that Sean will stay on as our representative on the Leinster Youths Committee and, in Boyne, Sean will remain with our U’20s backroom team.

I am pleased to announce that Neil Berney will take up the position of Boyne Youth Rugby Coordinator. Neil has been involved in the club from his underage playing days, playing throughout his adult rugby years with our Senior XV and finally with our Vets team. Neil has been coaching with our underage Minis and Youth teams for the last 8 years and has three boys playing at different ages in underage teams across the club. With rugby in his blood and a lifelong rugby enthusiast, Neil’s goals are to “impart the core ethos, values, skills and pure joy of playing rugby that have shaped my life and friendships”. Again I know you will join me in wishing Neil every success in the role and offer him every help and support.
