Rowing News:
Happy New Year from all of us here at St. Michael's Rowing Club. We're really looking forward to this year's rowing season which begins for us on Feb 24th and 25th with the SMRC Head of the River.

Typo? Nope, this year's HoR is a 2-day event. It's a new format and we'll have all the details on our website SMRC.ie RowingIreland.com  and on social media this week. In addition to 2 days of rowing, we're inviting everyone to come along on the Saturday evening to warm up, have some hot food and enjoy some very special entertainent, all laid on specifically for us. Details coming up soon...

SMRC 1 - 1 Young Munster
On Friday, January 5th St. Michael's were guests of honour at Young Munster RFC to mark the longstanding and successful link between our two great sporting clubs. Young Munster President Frank Corr, who himself was involved in St. Michael's Tennis Table Club for years, welcomed Club Captain Brian Richardson, Hon.Treasurer John O’Connell (a Young Munster man) and Coach Justin Sherin to the club and pre match dinner as Young Munsters took on local rivals Garryowen.

Richie presented Frank with a framed St. Michael's oar and in his speech recalled the many legends of both sports who cemented the clubs bonds over the years. On hand to mark the celebration were the St. Michael's Masters crew and many of those who had dual sports of wintering with rugby and summering with Rowing.

What a fantastic way to kick off the new year. Frank concluded our visit by wishing us every success for the season ahead and it’s his hope to see an invite to the Championship Winning celebratory dinner dance later in the year. So... no pressure or anything.

And... Young Munsters won 25-0. Let’s hope their success on the night bodes well for our season ahead.
