JFC :- Our Junior A team drew their final match in the league section of the Junior Championship last Saturday evening in Drumbaragh. It finished 0-9 apiece against St Brigids. Our scorers were Mark Brennan 0-5, Sean Stephens 0-2 and Declan Smyth 0-2. That left the team unbeaten but in second place behind Cortown. They now play Simonstown in the county quarter-final this Friday eveing at 6.30 in Pairc Tailteann and if successful will face the winners of the game between Bective and Kilmainham in the semi-final. Good luck to the lads on Frdiay evening. Another quarter final between Cortown and Donaghmore Ashbourne follows our game at 8.00.
B League Div 4 :- Our team had a fantastic win away to Carnaross on Monday night in their final game of the league and therefore are promoted to Div 3 and will face St. VIncents in the Div 4 final. The team was 1-7 to 0-6 behind at half time and 1-11 to 0-9 behind midway through the second half. They reduced the deficit to a point, 1-11 to 1-10, but Carnaross stretched their lead to three points with about 5 mins plus the six minutes of injury time that was played remaining. However the lads turned on the style in the closing minutes and scored 2-2 without reply to emerge winners by 3-12 to 1-13. Scorers were Danny Thynne 1-3, Kevin Keena 0-3, Christopher Smyth 0-3, Shane Brennan 1-0, Martin Horan 1-0, Darren Maguire 0-2 Paul O'Brien 0-1.
Ladies U14 Champions. Congratulations to the Ladies U14 team who beat Gael Colmcilles in their final with a score of 6-6 to 2-4. Excellent preformace by this impressive team managed by Lisa Donnelly & Sabrina Gabney. Shauna McPhelim, Ciara Hickey, Megan Thyne , Aisling Walsh, Amy Duffy and Nadine Doyle all impressed on the day.
All Ireland Huring Tickets :- The draw for the club's two All Ireland Hurling tickets (80 euro each) will take place in the clubhouse on Thursday night. They are for Row V, Section 701 (next to the Hill 16 end) of the Upper Cusack. Any paid-up member who wishes to be included in the draw must text Richard Harrahill on 087-2367941 by 8pm Thursday.
