Junior Football
The footballers took on Pallasgreen in Ahane in the east Junior A Football final last Friday evening. The lads started will with points from Denny Ahern, John Connery, Brian O’Connell, and Pa O’Mahony. Denis O’Dea scored a goal midway through the half racing onto a good pass from Cathal Finucane. Pallsgreen got their first points of the game in quick succession but Kilteely Dromkeen were the stronger side in the first half and points from Cathal Finucane and Denis O’Dea had us in a strong position at half time leading 1-07 to 0-03.
Kilteely Dromkeen played with the breeze in the second half and pinned the opposition back for long periods. Scores from Barry O’Donnell, Christy O’Dea, Denis O’Dea, and John Connery made sure of the result early in the half. Pallasgreen got a goal midway through the half to close the gap but Kilteely Dromkeen were still on top and points from Denis O’Dea, John Connery, and Cathal Finucane left a final scoreline of 1-15 to 1-05. Captain John Connery collected the cup after the game. The lads now meet Cappagh Kilcornan next weekend in the county league semi-final.
