Round Towers GAA Club Visit Our friends from the Round Towers Club in Clondalkin, Dublin, paid a visit to Kilteely on Saturday last. We had made the trip to Clondalkin last year with our U10 and U8 hurlers and footballers where we were treated with the best of hospitality. We were determined to return the compliment as we pulled out all the stops. Unfortunately the weather did not co-operate as it rained from early morning. That did not dampen the spirits of our volunteers or the players as both Clubs played many hurling and football games in the pouring rain. It was on then to Cill Bhride for refreshments where many of the parents had handed in the fruits of their baking labours. There was hot food also available as the ladies really excelled, led by Breda McCarthy and everyone rowed in to help. Finally, it was left up to Tommy O'Dea to present a momento of the occasion to Paul Spain from Round Towers, these lads had hatched the idea of these visits when they met on holidays in France an so it came to fruition. Many thanks to all the coaches and volunteers on the day, to the parents who baked the goodies and to the ladies who served up the food on the day. We look forward to making a return trip in a couple of years, many friendships have now been formed between the two clubs.
