Juvenile Club Trip to Clondalkin
Our trip to Clondakin on bank holiday Monday was a huge success for our U10, U8 and U6s. We boarded the bus at 8.30am in Kilteely and the sing songs began to shorten the long trip. We arrived in Clondakin at midday to a great welcome and top class facilities. We played them in a mixture of hurling and football games on a wonderful all weather pitch where results didn't matter as all the children got to play every minute of each game. After a big group photo with our new found friends we made our way to the local Round Towers Gaa clubhouse home of Dublin manager Jim Gavin. A huge spread of food was on display as our hosts went all out and could not have been kinder and more accommodating. Suitability refreshed we said our goodbyes and can't wait until early next year when Clondakin will make the return trip to Kilteely. The 27 children and 20 adults had a great day as everything ran smoothly, many thanks to Kelly Travel and their bus driver for their excellent service. One man has to take most of the credit for conceiving, organising and running this trip and that was Tommy O Dea. Finally thanks to the children and parents who made the trip and hopefully they got great enjoyment from it and are looking forward to next year playing hurling and football for their club.
