Groaner of the Week:

Why does it take pirates so long to learn the alphabet?

Because they could spend years at C.

Riddle of the Week:

Last week’s riddle was:  What can’t talk but will reply when spoken to?

Answer: An echo

“ Don’t do as I do, do as I say.”

This or That:

Pick between the two items below and see if you’re right. Afterall you have a 50/50 chance:

Last week’s ‘This or That’ was:

A translation error meant that KFC launched in China with either the catchphrase: “We’ll eat your fingers off” or “So hungry you could eat a baby”.

Answer:  “We’ll eat your fingers off” (Instead of “finger lickin’ good.”)

This Week’s ‘This or That’:

True or false: All of the largest 50 mountains in the world have been climbed by humans.

On This Day: On this day in 2013 Lance Armstrong admitted to doping in all seven of his Tour de France victories.

Brain Teasers:

Last week’s brain teaser was: An old Arab sheik must decide to leave his fortune to one of his two sons. He can’t however decide which one should inherit. He has an idea: Both sons will ride their camels in a race, and whichever camel crosses the finish line LAST will win the fortune for its owner. During the race, the two brothers wander aimlessly for days, neither willing to cross the finish line. In desperation, they ask a wise man for advice. He tells them something; then the brothers leap onto the camels and charge toward the finish line. What did the wise man say?

Answer:

The rules of the race were that the owner of the camel that crosses the finish line last wins the fortune. The wise man simply told them to switch camels.

This week’s Brain Teaser:

Sean is 6 foot tall. He is an assistant in a butcher’s shop. He wears size 10 shoes. What does he weigh?

Focal na Seachtain:

In focal na seachtain I have included a word or phrase that you can try and bring into your speech during the week to help build up the ‘cupla focal.’

“Tá mé go maith, go raibh maith agat” = I’m good, thank you very much.

Tales of Ó Muireartaigh: The commentaries of Michael Ó M are the stuff of legend.

"There's a streaker on the pitch, I'd say he is a Kilkenny fan because he looks happy with the situation."
