On a sad note: The club would like to express it's sympathy to the Kierans Family on the passing of Bernadette Mooney daughter of Newtown Blues Honary President Pat Kierans. Mass will take place on Wed. 3rd Oct. at 11am in Our Lady of Lourdes Church leaving Townley's Funeral Home at 10.30am. Our thoughts are with the family during this difficult time.
Other News: U14 Boys win Peter Judge Championship for the 2nd year. What a great year for the Newtown Blues U14 Boys team. They reached the final of the Feile Competition 2012 representing Louth in June and the season hadn't even started for them. They have just added the U14 League and Championship titles to their list of achievements for 2012 coming up trumps to fight off Dundalk Gaels in a tough championship match in Darver on Mon. 1st Oct. Final score Blues 4-12 Dundalk Gaels 2-14. It was sheer determination and team spirit that kept these lads going until the final whistle and credit to the team and management for a great year. And where would any team be without their supporters that travelled in numbers to Darver on a chilly Monday evening to get behind the lads for this final hurdle for 2012. Well done boys.

All Ireland Junior Ladies Final 7th Oct. 2012 The club is running a bus to the Ladies All Ireland final in Croke Park on 7th October. Louth will face Antrim on the day & we are very proud of our 4 ladies on the panel Elaine Flood Vikki Mc Ginn Maura Lynch & Lisa Kelly. The bus will be leaving the clubhouse at 10am on the morning of the game & will be back in Drogheda for 3.30pm at the latest.
