The lotto jackpot of €7,300 was not won. The numbers drawn were 16, 18, 23 and 29. There was one match three winner of €150: Declan Brennan, Tombeagh, Hacketstown (10, 16, 23 and 29). Promoter prize`s Fergal Harmon.....In the Premier division, Slaney got back to winning ways and inflicted a first league loss on `the neighbours` Parkville in Rathvilly. In an evenly-fought first half, Slaney went closest to opening the scoring when Seanie Furlong`s effort crashed off the crossbar before the break. Moments into the second half Slaney again hit the crossbar, Aaron Broughall`s effort hitting the goal frame but this time it rebounded nicely for Andy Foley and he fired home. Despite Parkville making three substitutions, the lads continued to push forward and doubled their lead when Seanie Furlong applied the finishing touch to Paddy Farrell`s corner. The game was effectively over ten minutes later when Andy was fouled in the area and Seanie slotted home the spot kick for his second and Slaney`s third for a 3-1 win......A link to the past - from the present team both Dominic Byrne and Daniel O`Brien also played in Slaney`s last home win against `the neighbours` at Premier level. It was thirteen years ago in a memorable derby in which Slaney had to came from 0 – 2 down to win 3 – 2 with the winning goal coming from non-other than the present assistant manager Mark Ryan with a late header.......On Saturday U13`s hosted Nurney Villa in Rathvilly and inflicted their first league loss. Nurney got off to a great start with Ian Craddock scoring after only five minutes. They were denied a second goal thanks to some fine saves from keeper Bryce Gardiner, before Darragh Corcoran picked up a loose ball in his own half and delivered a pinpoint ball through to Daire Byrne, who fire home the equaliser 1-1. Late in the game, Daire scored his second, with Darragh Corcoran also scoring a brace to win 4 – 1.....Slaney Team of the Week (5) – Nov.. Keeper: Fergal Harmon.
