Lotto numbers drawn on Monday 23 September were 2, 3, 26 and 30. There was no jackpot winner. There was one match three winner of €150: Tom McCall, Bough Cross, Rathvilly (2, 3, 25 and 26). Promoter prize`s Martin Curran. After they pulled off an upset against last season`s Premier runners-up Crettyard in the opening weekend, Slaney pulled off yet another upset by holding the defending champions New Oak Boys to a draw in Rathvilly. The visitors got off to a flying start when they scored direct from a corner on 9 minutes. Slaney had to work their way back into the game but efforts from Lubomir Lesko and Dominic Byrne were just wide of the target. On 32 minutes the lads got a foothold in the game, resulting from Joe Thomson working `his magic` up the right wing to earn a corner. From the resulting corner Shane Murphy`s effort originally rattled the crossbar and after a scramble in the box, Dominic Byrne got on the end to blast home. After the interval the second-half was a lot more even with defenders Shane and Regan Murphy making sure that the champions never scored from play to share the points. Slaney U12`s kicked off their season with an impressive win over Burrin Celtic in Ballon. Apart from scoring four goals, `keeper Callum Boland in the first half and equally Dylan Hopkins in the second period, kept the home side scoreless on their own turf where many a juvenile side from Rathvilly have failed in the past.
