Lotto numbers drawn on Monday 16 September were 3, 10, 12 and 24. There were four match three winners who shared €160: Theresa Curran, 12 Collins Park (03, 10, 17, 24), Danny Kehoe, Knockroe (03, 07, 10, 12), Lar Kelly Jnr., Garrettstown (03, 10, 17, 24) and Ann Whelan, Kings Cross, Tullow (03, 8, 10, 24,). Promoter prize`s Laura Kavanagh. Slaney, on their return to Premier status caused `a bit of an upset` as they defeated the serial league winners Crettyard United 2-0 in Rathvilly on Sunday. In an evenly-fought entertaining first quarter, the lads began to find their feet as the half wore on and a Conor O`Brien effort from distance flew just the wrong side of the post. Another long-range effort from just Daniel O`Brien, just over the bar as the sides went into the break scoreless. Cretty were slow out of the blocks at the start of the second-half and the lads made them pay in emphatic fashion with two goals in six minutes. The first arrived on 50 minutes when Conor O`Brien`s pass released Ludomir Lesko and his powerful run and fine finish put Rovers 1-0 up. It got worst for Cretty shortly afterwards when Daniel O`Brien`s corner was finished to the net by Aaron Broughall to double the lead and a deserved 2-0 win. This Sunday they face another tough fixture when they host last season`s Premier winners New Oak Boys in Rathvilly at 11am. In the afternoon Slaney B team kick off their season in the Carlow cup, in an away trip to Baltinglass Town B. Juvenile season also kicks off on Saturday as the U13`s travel to Parkville at 12.30 and U12`s are in Ballon at 2pm.
