Lotto numbers drawn on Monday January 14 were 3, 10, 13 and 20. There was no jackpot winner. There were three match three winners who shared €150: Louise Faulkner (01 03 10 13), c/o Bruno`s Takeaway, Ger Clarke Father Flood Estate (03 07 10 20) and Adrian Gahan, Rathoe (03 07 13 20). Promoters` prize Carol Gahan. Despite conceding a penalty to Celtic Stars on the third minute, the seniors responded with some fine build-up play between Mick and Andy Foley to find the experienced Dominic Byrne in a packed defence and he conjured up an equaliser on 25 minutes. It got better for Slaney when Paddy Farrell was upended for a penalty, which Byrne dispatched on 37 minutes to lead at the break. After the interval, Slaney were reduced to ten men following a red card and aided by a strong wind, Stars piled on the pressure forcing Fergal Harmon into a point blank save on 66 minutes but he could do nothing but watch Brendan Behan`s piledriver into the top corner two minutes later to share the points. The U12`s, having shipped five goals in defeat to Baltinglass earlier in the season, turned in a fine performance in the return match in Rathvilly. Two well taken chances from Conall Cullen and Kevin Lambe put Slaney in control and after ten games, they recorded their first headed goal when Daire Byrne got on the end of an sweet inswinging corner to the back post from Darragh Corcoran to collect full points.
