The weekend of 20th May 2016 proved to be a great success for Cooley Kickhams were a bumper filled of events took place. On Friday 20th May it all kicked off with our annual Cooley Coast Run 10k and 5k were over 400 runners and walkers competed. A huge thank you to our Coast Run committee,  all the competitors and the marshals for making the Coast Run another great success. It was great to see such a great turn out and your help in making it a safe and enjoyable event in challenging conditions is very much appreciated. Once again huge thanks to our main sponsors Open Hydro for their continued support.

On Saturday 21st May Fr McEvoy park was the place to be when the Convoy to Cooley with Nathan Carter took place in our specially built marquee. At 4pm over 100 lorries and trucks, old and new assembled at Ballymac and headed for Cooley with Nathan Carters own lorry leading the Convoy. What a sight it was when they all arrived in Cooley honking their horns in convoy, it truly was an amazing scene. Once the lorries were parked up for the night it was down to the main event of the evening, Nathan Carter live in the marquee. It really was an amazing sight, red carpet greeted those in attendance, big screens both inside and outside ensured that everyone had the perfect view. Gravity School of dancing took the floor shortly after 8pm and put on a superb show. With the crowds coming in there droves Matt Leavy took to the stage and had the crowd buzzing. Then shortly after 10pm the moment finally arrived when Irelands number one country singer Nathan Carter took to the stage in Cooley much to the delight of the crowd in attendance. Hits like Long Time Gone, to the beautiful Caledonia and of course Wagon Wheel had the young and old singing and dancing all night long. Cooley Kickhams would like to thank all those that helped in any way possible in making this the great success it was. To all those that acted as stewards on the night, to the bar staff who worked so tirelessly, to the girls that collected the tickets and to the local Red Cross who were present on the night we say a big thank you. Cooley Kickhams would also like to thank Peter Hanlon for his time and effort in making this the success it was, without him this wouldn't be possible. A huge thank you to Derek McGarrity who managed our bar superbly all week end.

The truck show continued on Sunday where all lorries old and new parked up for display. Everyone had there lorry in immaculate condition with lorries coming from near and far. Once the judging was completed it was time to move back into the marquee where Marty Mone, who arrived by helicopter had both young and old jiving all evening. The truck show proved to a great success. Cooley Kickhams would like to thank the main organizers Brendan Sheelan and Peter Hanlon for their time and effort in making this possible.

Convoy to Cooley 2016 most certainly was a massive success for Cooley Kickhams. We would like to thank everyone that turned up over the week end and hope you all had a great time. Convoy to Cooley 2017 ???????
