Handball Tournament Our Handball finished up for Christmas last weekend with a brilliant evening at Lecale Trinity Grammar. After the Juvenile Games (Year 8s and below) we had our Annual Christmas Wall Ball, with visitors coming from Mayobridge, Saval, Clonduff, Carryduff, St Paul’s (Belfast) and Armagh. Martin Murphy, whose name is writ large in the history of handball in Downpatrick and indeed the province, returned with his nephew. It was a veritable feast of handball over 2 hours but in the end there had to be winners. - Cup winners: Jack (Saval) and Oisín (RGU)
- Shiled winners: Paul (RGU) and Niall (Carryduff)
A big thank you to County Handball Chairman, Sean McGone who came down to run his eye over proceedings and a special mention to our own Tony O’Connor who made sure the evening ran smoothly.
