Email: pro.downpatrick.down@gaa.ie --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Last Saturday was a forgetful day in Clones for the Down Senior Men, as their ten point defeat to Monaghan in the Ulster Senior Football Championship, dropped them into the inaugural Tailteann Cup. Down supporters were given some hope when RGU’s Caolan Mooney received a pass, moved into the Monaghan penalty area and put the ball into the net. Hopes were raised again when, just after the start of the second half, Pat Havern scored another goal for Down. However, It was Monaghan’s Jack McCarron(0-7) and Conor McManus (0-4) who eventually put the game beyond Down’s reach.
