It was a great result for the reserves in the first round of the Premier Reserve Championship. Behind at half time and with an additional five points conceded early in the second half the team worked hard and got the deserved victory. Final score RGU 1-17; Saval 1:14. RGU have been drawn away to Warrenpoint in the quarter finals. This game is scheduled for Saturday, August 21st at 5pm. The U-11.5 Section C team had an unbelievable game against Aughlisnafin to win by a point. They fought from the first minute to the last with every player tackling and blocking. The lads took on the Gerdie Collins challenge and made more than 10 blocks during the game. Ther RGU fully deserved the win. The U-11.5 Section A team ended the league with a defeat against a strong Liatroim team. The boys have worked hard all year and will bounce back stronger. They have made great progress and finished on the same points as Liatroim in second place. Good to see all the parents supporting these young lads all year. Well done all. The U-11.5 girls were away to Bredagh. They were fortunate to have a current Down Ladies player referee their match. A great night’s football was had by all. This team increased in confidence with each match. Well done girls. Lotto numbers drawn by Paul Kelly were, 8, 14, 18 and 20. There was no jackpot winner, and the jackpot for next week is now £5900.
