RGU Executive wish to pass on our condolences to the family of Denis Lynn following his sudden death. Finnebrogue have been a large sponsor of RGU in recent years and their support has been much appreciated. Indeed his factory on the Belfast Road has provided hundreds of jobs, a big boost to the local economy. Our sympathies and prayers to his family.
An entertaining night of football as the U17’s opened the season with a 1 point win over Castlewellan at PTR on Monday. End to end, mistakes, great scores, lead changing hands, fantastic periods of play, turnovers, wholehearted effort and a nail biting finish...what more do you want at this level.

'Coach the Coaches' session tonight at PTR for our juvenile mentors. Fantastic to see the engagement and enthusiasm during the session. Many thanks to our Club Coaching Officer Jenny Fitzsimmons for preparing and delivering, much appreciated and lots of learning done tonight. 👏👏
A lot of work being done by the Juvenile Committee, Coaching Officer and mentors this year, despite all the Covid difficulties, to provide football and enjoyment for all. And most important of all, volunteers doing their best for our players and the club.
Good luck to Kyla Trainor in her new role as Antrim Senior Ladies Coach. All the best for the coming season. Antrim Ladies team have just gained a few new Downpatrick supporters!
Matches at all age levels will commence from Monday 10th May. Schedules will be sent to all groups as usual over the coming weeks.
Training continues for all age groups this week, please keep in touch via the various WhatsApp groups and on our Facebook page. Details on registration and Covid protocols will be sent on these platforms.
This week’s lotto numbers drawn by Roisin Polly were: 15, 20, 21 and 24. There was no jackpot winner with next weeks Jackpot £4,600. Five tickets matched three numbers to win £100. The lucky winners were Jim Cunningham, Johnny Holland, Karen Kelly, Patricia Kelly, Oliver Cochrane.
