Under 8's visited Allenwood on Friday evening last for an U8 blitz. Suncroft travelled with nearly 30 players. We wish to thank  all parents for their support in getting kids to these games . Suncroft Under 8's were organised into three teams and  all players played in  go-games  and everyone seemed to enjoy themselves. Next up for under 8's is another blitz versus Round Towers this coming weekend.

Under 10 A's had another win after a nailbiting finish on Thursday night at home against Athy. Suncroft started strong and got off to a good start with a point from David Sutton and a goal from Stephen Crowley. Further points came from Kallum Ennis, Owen Foy and Stephen Crowley. Suncroft were dominating midfield and were passing the ball very well . The defence kept the Athy forwards at bay in   the first half. Half time Suncroft 1-4 0-1 Athy. Suncroft started the second half well with a point from David Sutton . But Athy now had had the wind behind them and stated to put Suncroft defence under pressure. Athy added 1-3 without reply and the game was getting. Up pops David Sutton to score a decisive goal . Athy were not finished and scored another goal and a point . Final Score was Suncroft 2-8, Athy 2-5. This ends this phase of league. Next phase starts in two weeks time.

Uner 12's finish off league campaign in style with a 9 point win away to  Eadestown on Tuesday night. Suncroft took a while to get going in this match as Eadestown raced into a 3 points to no score lead and were looking good for their lead. Owen Lawless was having none of this and a great passing movement between him and Christian Philips lead to goal by Darragh Nolan. This settled Suncroft and they added further goals from  Owen Lawless and Dylan McDermott left the score  at half time Suncroft 3-1 Eadestown 0-3. Suncroft continued the second half as they finished the first half. A further goal from Owen Lawless settled the issue. Eadestown pulled back a goal and 2 points in second half as Suncroft finished game out easily. Dean Walsh pulled off great saves when game was in balance in first half. Suncroft were really strong up the middle from Erin Keon to Dylan Mc Dermott at full forward with some great passing movements which lead to the goals. Best for Eadestown were Jonathan Dean, Oisin Reilly, Ronan Slattery and Patrick O'Brien. Suncroft are now in playoff for a semi final spot. Final score Suncroft 4-5 Eadestown  1-5.

Under 14's match away to  Eadestown was cancelled  as the referee did not turn up. Next up for U14's is away to Celbridge on Wednesday evening.

Report from Kildare U14’s development squad.

Kildare U14’s played Offaly and Laois last Saturday week in Portarlington. Both Suncroft players featured in both games. Brendan Kane played corner back, as ever he kept both corner forwards very quiet and was very steady throughout. Ciaran Troy played wing forward, he was a constant dread to both defences, scoring 0-3 from play. Well done to both players, Kildare won both games and remain unbeaten. A special word of thanks to the Kildare mentors who are doing an excellent job, keep up the good work.
