"RED SKY AT NIGHT, DUNSHAUGHLIN’S DELIGHT"
Match Report: U19 Division 3 Final
Dunshaughlin v Na Fianna
Saturday, 7th December 2024
On a bitterly cold but sunny Saturday, following the passing of Storm Darragh, the U19 Division 3 Final between Dunshaughlin and Na Fianna Gaa Meath took place.
Final destination: Dunshaughlin.
Both teams, known for their black and amber colours, donned their alternate kits, with Dunshaughlin sporting their lucky 1886-inspired red jersey, a tribute to their guiding light, much like the North Star.
The teams also battled the lingering gusts of Storm Darragh throughout the match.
Dunshaughlin, playing with the wind advantage in the first half, surged ahead with a 5-0 lead after 20 minutes. The challenging conditions made free-flowing football difficult, but Dunshaughlin managed to edge out scoring opportunities. Na Fianna fought hard and managed to register a point before halftime.
Halftime Score: Dunshaughlin 0-5, Na Fianna 0-1
Just minutes into the second half, Dunshaughlin struck for a crucial goal - a defining moment in the game
However, Na Fianna, undeterred by the setback, hit a purple patch and mounted a determined comeback. Their relentless pressure kept the game on edge, but Dunshaughlin's defense held firm. Despite Na Fianna's best efforts, the early lead and crucial goal secured a hard-fought victory for Dunshaughlin.
Full-Time Score: Dunshaughlin 1-9, Na Fianna 0-7
The final whistle marked a well-deserved win for Dunshaughlin, crowning them U19 Division 3 champions. This victory adds another championship to Dunshaughlin's incredible year, following the historic senior men's and ladies' double triumphs. The club continues to build on its remarkable success with a bright future ahead
Ryan Robinson( 0-2) Pierce Dunne (0-2)
Fiach Hartigan (0-1) Ciaran Sheridan (0-2)(free)
Jack Smith (1-0) Mathew Gallagher (0-1)
Jeff Foley (0-1)
Thank You Richie
We would like to confirm that Richie Kealy has made the decision to step down from his role as Dunshaughlin senior football manager after 3 years in charge. We respect his decision and acknowledge the significant impact he has had on the development and success of our senior team.
During Richies tenure, the team experienced promotion from Intermediate to Senior level, secured a promotion back to Division 1 league football and finally won the Senior Football Championship. His dedication, professionalism, leadership and passion for the game has left a lasting mark on our club.
We would also like to thank his back room team, namely Paul Curran, David Gallagher, Tom Clarke, Ciaran Clusker, TP Toolan and the late Fergus Clancy RIP for their huge contribution to the team over the past three years.
At this time, no decision has been made regarding a new manager. The club’s executive committee will begin the process of identifying a suitable candidate in due course. We extend our deepest gratitude to Richie and his team for their unwavering commitment and wish them and their families all the best in their future endeavours.

Pitch Closure Notice
Dear Members,
Both Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels pitches are now closed until further notice.
After months of training our champions and hosting numerous matches, our pitches need a well-deserved rest, especially with worsening weather conditions.
That’s what happens when you train champions!
This temporary closure will help ensure the pitches are in top condition, allowing us to return stronger and ready for action in the new year.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
