Results/Fixtures

Our Senior men have successfully retained their Senior status of 2021 after a win over Nobber last Saturday afternoon in Navan. Level at half time the lads put in a massive shift in the second half which saw them out score Nobber 1-10 to 0-02. Final score Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels 2-19 Nobber 3-05.

An hour later that same day saw our Senior Ladies play host to Old Leighlin of Carlow in the Semi-Final of the Leinster Intermediate Club Football Championship. Unfortunately, Old Leighlin proved too strong on the day and with the help of a few early goals our Girls hard as they tried couldn’t bridge that gap. Full Time score Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels 1-08 Old Leighlin 4-06. Hard luck girls but you can hold your heads extremely high after a fantastic year of football.

Roll on 2021 with our Two Senior Teams!!

Earlier that morning our U12 girls travelled to Dunboyne to take on Dunboyne in the Div.1 Final. Level at half time, 4 points all and level at full time, 6 all, meant that extra time was needed to find a winner. As hard as our girls tried and fought it wasn’t to be. Dunboyne squeezed a win by a single point, 0-08 to 0-07. Hard luck girls, superb effort but keep the heads up high.

All match reports & photos for the above-mentioned games & more can be found on our Facebook page & Club Website.

Congratulations

Caoimhin King whose appearance against Nobber on Saturday last marked his 100th Senior Championship appearance for the club. Making his debut back in 2003 against Kilmainhamwood, Caoimhin now joins an elite list of names in the club that have played over 100 championship games;

Kenny McTigue / Ray Maloney – 118 app.

Richie Kealy – 112 app.

Ronan Gogan – 104 app.

Trevor Dowd – 103 app.

Caoimhin King – 100 app. (and counting… there’s a few years left yet!)

Well done also to our neighbours Ratoath in winning the Keegan Cup for their second time, in a snatch and grab victory over Gaeil Colmcille on Sunday.

Until next week folks,

Stay Safe,

Dunshaughlin & Royal Gaels Committee.
