Results

Hard luck to both our Men’s Senior and Junior teams in the Championship last weekend. Our Seniors unfortunately came up against a very strong Dunboyne side on Saturday evening losing out on a score line of 4-12 to 0-09.

Our Junior side just fell short of the finish line at home on Sunday morning losing out by only two points to a tough Donaghmore Ashbourne side on a score line of 1-11 to 0-12.

On a more positive note our Men’s 3rd and 4th teams both recorded wins in their championship games. Our 3rd team ran out very comfortable winners against Dunboyne on Monday evening on a score line of 5-14 to 0-08, while our 4th team (YES 4th – Brilliant to see!) travelled to Slane last night, August 4th and came away with the victory on a score line of 1-13 to 0-07. Well done to everyone involved.

Yesterday evening saw the start of the Ladies Football Championships across the county and our Intermediate Girls headed for the seaside (Pilltown) to face St. Colmcille’s and what a show they put on. A great team performance ended up in them running out winners on a score line of 2-16 to 0-06. Congratulations and well done must also go to Laura Bourke who earlier in the week was named Captain of our Intermediate team for the year. Best of luck to Laura, all the girls and the management for the rest of the year.

Last Tuesday, July 28th saw the start of the Boys U15 Championship competitions, we had two teams entered in two different divisions. In the Premier competition our lads headed across the border to Ratoath where unfortunately they came undone by a strong Ratoath side losing out on a score line of 7-18 to 2-03. Our U15 Div4 team however were victorious at home to Rathkenny, 6-07 to 3-08. Some great scoring there on both sides!

Last Friday night saw our U14 girls record a great win against near neighbours Dunsany on a score line of 7-15 to 5-06. Well done girls.

All match reports for the above-mentioned games can be found on our Facebook page and Club Website.
