Sad to record the death of former club player, selector, committee member, umpire and friend Michael Walsh of Woodcockstown, Drumree. A tribute to Michael is available on our Facebook page. Michael gave dedicated service to the club over many years, winning an intermediate championship medal in 1977. Our sympathy to his wife Kathleen, sons Aidan, Martin and Michael all of whom played for the club, his grandchildren and his many relatives and friends. The club will provide a guard of honour at the funeral mass in Culmullen tomorrow morning, Wednesday 12th, and all available club members and supporters are welcome to join us.

There are very few competitive club games at present but our minors play the second game of the Minor League on Saturday with an away game to Gaeil Colmcille in Grangegodden, Kells at 11 a.m. Our senior men came up short against Nobber in our Feis Cup game on Friday night, losing out by 3-7 to 1-9. Our next competitive outing is in Round 1 of the men’s All County League on the weekend of February 29th/March 1st when our first team plays Oldcastle and our second team will meet Wolfe Tones. Further details later.

Well done to our own Luke Mitchell, who starred with a contribution of 1-6 for DCU Freshers in a 1-14 to 0-11 victory over UCC at the Mardyke grounds in Cork. The winners qualify for a home quarter final in March.
