It is with great sadness we learned of the sudden and very sad passing of Jimmy Walsh, affectionately known as "The Dosser”. Jimmy was a member of of the 1967 All Ireland winning Meath panel when he was playing club football with Drumree. He won three Leinster senior football championships with Meath in 1964, 1966 and 1967. Prior to that he had captained Meath to Junior All-Ireland glory in 1962. In 1977 he was a member of the Dunshaughlin football team that won the Intermediate Football Championship and of the Dunshaughlin hurling teams that won intermediate titles in 1983 and 1987 and junior in 1982, captaining the 1982 side. He also won Junior football titles with Drumree in 1959 and intermediates in 1961 and 1969.Jimmy served as Vice Chairperson of Dunshaughlin GAA (1976-78) and in later years he was Chairperson of St. Martins (1993-96). It is true to say that Jimmy and his family had a great love for the GAA and was heavily involved in GAA at all ages in Dunshaughlin and Drumree down through the years. Ar dheis Dé go raibh a anam.
