St. Maurs GAA Club transferred to Croke Park on mass on Saturday Night with over 1,200 supporters making their way to HQ to enjoy the night cheering on and supporting the 28 volunteer dancers taking part in Strictly St. Maurs.
The dancers put Trojan work into their routines in the last couple of months which was very evident on the night. Our supporters brought style and humour with them in abundance with a memorable night enjoyed by all attending. Congratulations go to Derek Farren and the Club Social Committee who put a huge effort into putting the whole event together which included 14 bus loads from Rush plus an additional 1,000 logging in online to stream the event live from as far away as Australia.
Marty Morrissey did a great job comparing the event where Denis Byrne, Adrian Kelly and Sam Lyons did the tough job of judging on the night. The standard of dancing was very high and the choice of a winning couple was a close decision with Melisa Weldon and David Flynn winning out in the end followed by Niamh Conway and Alan Durnan as runners up. Each couple also put together and acted in a promo video all of which were incredibly entertaining. Thanks goes to all involved who made it an amazing night which surpassed all expectations.
St. Maurs GAA club would like to take the opportunity of thanking all our sponsors who were so generous to the club in the last few weeks and would ask members to keep this in mind when decisions have to be made.
The club is running a Halloween camp Tuesday 29th and Wednesday 30th October 10.00am to 2:00pm each day. There will be separate camps for Junior/Senior infants groups and then for older children (which includes a trip to croke park) Full details are on www.maurs.ie or contact Clare Dowdall
St Maurs Club shop open Saturdays 10-12. Additionally during the week club gear can be purchased by contacting or calling to the office between 10 and 2.

MATCH NEWS
Our Senior team lost out to St. Judes in the league on Saturday by a point.
Maurs U12 Hurlers lost out to Naomh Mearnog away,
U13 girls footballers had a semi final win over Fingallians.
U15 girls footballers also had a semi final win .
U10 Hurlers won out against Naomh Fionnbarra at home on Saturday
There will be Bingo next Sunday as usual and the Club.Lotto will be held as usual on Sunday night as well.
