We had no winner in our Facebook Live lotto draw for a €19,950 jackpot on Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 22,30,33,35. We had no match 3’s so we picked five lucky dips- Kevin Hughes, Oaklands, Headford; Brian Moran, Galway Rd, Headford; Terry Lyons, Ellagh, Headford; James Carey; Ger Gibbons, Lettera, Headford.

Next lotto draw will be on Sunday September 22nd on Facebook Live at 9pm and the jackpot will be €20,100. Tickets can be bought on our website and in Tesco, Monaghan's Centra, The Trading Post, Ted McHugh's, The Angler's Rest and Varley's.

Our Juniors played Athenry on Saturday in Headford in their third and final group game and came out on top 1-8 to 0-6. After a very poor performance last time out away to Killererin, management were looking for a reaction and they got exactly that. We had the ideal start when Aaron McDonagh was taken down in the square in the first minute before burying the penalty himself. Scores were hard to come by after that and by half time the score was just 1-2 to 0-1. Our defence were in top form and with fifty minutes on the clock, Athenry had just two points on the scoreboard. Athenry put on a late scoring burst to reduce the lead to 1-6 to 0-6. Two late points sealed a deserved win for us. We will meet Athenry again next week in the North Board semi final in Headford with fixture details to be confirmed. The winner will play Killererin in the North Board Final in mid October.

Team- Shane Walsh (0-2, 1- 45', 1 free), Mark O Toole, Dylan Cunningham, Sean Moran, Brian Walsh, Ja Lee, Reece O Toole, James O Brien, Evan Flynn (0-2), Stephen Casey, Mark Earnor (0-3, 2 frees), Tom Doyle, Tom Newell, Aaron McDonagh (1-1, 1 pen, 1 free), Geoffrey Corbett. Subs used- Niall Fortune for Tom Doyle, Eric Flynn for Reece O Toole, Darren Barrett for Thomas Newell, Cathal Newell for Geoffrey Corbett.

U-12's play Ballinasloe this Sunday in Headford at 11am.

U-14's played Salthill/Knocknacarra away in round 2 and drew on a score-line of 1-15 to 4-6. Their next game is at home to St Michael's this Friday at 6.30pm. They are away to Northern Gaels on Tuesday of next week at 6.30pm.

We would like to send our condolences to the Murphy and Cosgrove families on their recent bereavements.
