We had no winner of our Facebook Live lotto draw for €13,500 jackpot last Sunday night. Numbers drawn were 4-6-22-32. We had no match 3, so we drew 5 lucky dips sharing €100 - Noel Lee (Ballynalty), Michelle Audley (Liss), James Varley (Headford), Michael Mellett (Mochara, Shrule) & Martin Mulkeen (Caherlistrane). A big thank you to all for your continued support. Tickets can be bought on our website and in Joyce's Supermarket, Monaghan's Centra, The Trading Post, The Angler's Rest & Varley's. Next lotto draw will be Sunday January 9th on Facebook Live at 9pm and the jackpot will be €13,650.
It was with great sadness that we learned last week that John Joe Walsh has gone to eternal reward after a well borne illness surrounded by his loving family.
To his Wife Patsy daughter Mary-Ann son-in-law Colm, Sister Maura and Brothers Jimmy and Frank, we extend our heartfelt sympathies.
John Joe played football for our club for many a year and was a key player in the historic win of the County Junior Championship Final in 1966 when they beat Killanin. This win promoted our club to the senior ranks.
He celebrated the 50th anniversary of this historic victory at our social in 2016 where he caught up with his team mates and shared many a story on the night.
Off the field John Joe continued his ties with the club and was another key player on the Fás Team who helped to re-develop our pitch during 1992-1994.
He continued his work with Fás and was employed by ourselves as grounds keeper up to his retirement.
During this time we held many Summer Camps and John Joe was like a father figure to all the children who took part. He was also an avid player of our Lotto and even won our Jackpot one year.
John Joe will be sadly missed by us all.
