News: Next Sunday 21st July is All-Ireland Senior Hurling Final Day, but not alone will we see the Senior Inter County victors on television, St Michaels’ GAA Club will also have the opportunity to greet the Platinum All-Ireland Winning Galway Under 14 Team who will be doing a tour of the Clubs on Sunday evening. Ciara & Grace Coyle represented St Michaels’ on this County Panel and there will be an opportunity to meet & greet the champions, have photographs taken as well as showing your appreciation for this great panel of players and our two heroes. The bus is due at Westside at 6:20 pm, so you will have loads of time to get away from the TV and get down & show your appreciation
Well done to the St Michaels’ Ladies Under 16 team who won the Legue Final last week against St Furseys in Headford on a score line of 4-06 to 2-07. As the score-line suggests it was a battle between two evenly balanced teams with the Lauren Carr-captained ladies from St Michaels’ prevailing in this enthralling encounter.
St Michaels’ Junior B team struggled to stamp their authority on their game away to Carna/Caiseal last Friday, and with five minutes remaining, the game was balanced on a knife-edge 2-11 to 2-10. They added 2-01 in the closing minutes for a flattering eight point victory. Next up is a West Board semi-final v Salthill. Team: G. Martyn, J. Keane, E. Tummon & J. McDonnell. C. Rice, C. Horan & B. Fundraising:
It’s GOLF, GOLF & more GOLF for the next 2 weeks as St Michaels’ GAA Club’s Annual Golf Am-Am takes place this year on Saturday 27th July 2024 (Saturday week) at Oughterard Golf Course. Tee Times are available from 08:00am to 03:00pm and can be booked through John Ruane at 085 7432043. Tee Boxes for €100.00 can be booked through Eamonn Smyth at 087 6471305. Cut Off for Tee Boxes is next Monday 22nd July and the word is that GD could arrive on the scene as late as Kieran Molloy did on Sunday... and be evry bit as effective!! After the weekly Lotto, the Golf Am-Am is THE most important event in our fundraising calendar and we dearly need Tee Box Sponsors, Tee Box Sellers, and of course Golf Teams to participate. Cost: €100.00 per Tee Box & €120.00 per Team.
All-Ireland football tickets: The Club’s status as Intermediate for 2024 sees us with a reduced allocation compared to other years. There will be a draw for those few tickets next week for any Paid Up Adult Members as of the 01st June 2024 who submit their application by email to secretary.stmichaels.galway@gaa.ie before 12 noon on Monday 22nd July.
