St Michaels’ Intermediate men had a good 4-09 to 1-08 victory over Bearna at Westside on Saturday last. A win is a win, and a ten point win is a great win should scoring difference come into play later on in the season. The analysts will be looking at taking more than thirteen scores over the hour and a third quarter where they played second fiddle for much of it. Team: S. Daly, C. Meagher, S. Maloney & S. Kerr. D. O’ Malley (0-1), E. Fiorentini & E. Kerin (0-1). D. Hurley (0-1) & E. O’ Donnell (1-0). J. Summerville, G. Summerville (1-0) & E. Day. G. Higgins (0-2(1f), D. Dunnane & E. Brannigan (1-2). Subs: C. Keane, R. Mac Giolla Rí, B. Harlowe (0-2f), F. Daly & D. McGovern. (Dave Cunnane will hardly have the audacity to claim the OG!) A big thank you to the newly formed catering committee who laid on refreshments & food afterwards. The Intermediates’ next outing will also be a home game versus Killanin on the weekend after next.
Best of luck to the Under 11 Management, players and parents who will be in Croke Park on Thursday 04th April where our two squads will get to play matches on the hallowed turf from 10am before they have a tour of the GAA Museum in the afternoon. It should be a day to remember for young and old.
The month of April sees The Club Football scene getting very busy with the Under 17 and Under 19 Leagues, Division 1 and 4B men’s leagues and Junior B Championship all being contested by St Michaels. The Club’s Juvenile Under 13,15 & 16s will also feature in April.
Fixtures this week:
- Friday evening at 6:30pm, St Michaels are at home to Bearna in Under 13.
- Sunday at 12 Noon, St Michaels’ Under 17s host St James.
- Monday next at 7:00pm, St Michaels Ladies Under 16s host Salthill.
- Next Tuesday (This evening week) St Michaels’ Under 15s host Claregalway.
That’s 4 home matches in 5 days!
On the following weekend, the Club’s 3 adult men’s teams will be in action with 2 of them at home.
