Senior Relagation Round 3: St Michaels 1-08 --- Killanin 1-15

Summary: St Michaels’ attempt to avoid relegation from Senior to Intermediate petered out at Spiddal on Saturday last when a closing twelve minutes plus injury time of this encounter saw Killanin outscore us by 1-05 to 0-01. A seven point defeat was hardly a fair reflection on St Michaels’ performance on the day, which would probably come under one of their top three efforts for this year. That said, it is what it is, and they have Division 1 Senior League and the Peter Curran Electric Intermediate championship to look forward to in 2024.

The Closing Date has now been extended for the County Board Draw (Win a Home) to be purchased through the Club. The Club needs your support on this initiative. See further information below under “Football Board”.
Football Board: You may have noticed by now, that the Galway Football Board have launched a fundraising initiative in the guise of a limited draw to “Win a Home” at a cost of €100.00 per ticket, limited to 20,000 tickets. We are asking all of our members and sponsors who may be considering the purchase of a ticket(s), to buy them through our Club. St Michaels’ have received an allocation to distribute in return for some discount on Board costs in 2024. . AGM: Any word on the AGM? When it is fixed, it will be time for all facets of the club to have their voice heard. What do we need? Are we happy with our training facilities? Are the Juvenile Club happy with the way things are going? Are the Ladies Club happy with the way things are going? Are the mens’ Club happy with the way things are going? Do we need a more active and vibrant committee? Are we looking to the future? Can we do better at fundraising? You are the people out there that can pose the questions and do something about it.
