Summary: St Michaels’ Senior team have backed themselves into a corner in the Relagation group when they lost their way after taking a 07 to 03 lead against Lettermore in Spiddal on Saturday last. The second quarter capitulation where they conceded seven unanswered points proved beyond undoing in the second half and while the goal was scored against the run of play in the last minute, St Michaels’ never looked like they had the steel or resolve to close the gap. Team members on the day were: S. Daly, S. Kerr, C. Meagher, E. Kerin, B. Madden, J. Browne, E. McConnan, D. Cunnane, F. Cruise, M. Maguire, G. Higgins (0-6(4f), E. Brannigan (0-1), B. Harlowe (0-3f), D. O’ Malley (0-1), G. Summerville, S. O’ Reilly (0-1), E. Day & D. Hurley. Their next game on Saturday next is a must-win game now and rather than dwelling on the Hows and Whys of the situation, the players and management need the support and backing of every single one of our members and supporters next Saturday when their opponents will not have to travel very far to support their team. Football Board: You may have noticed by now, that the Galway Football Board have launched a fundraising initiative in the guise of a limited draw to “Win a Home” at a cost of €100.00 per ticket, limited to 20,000 tickets. We are asking all of our members and sponsors who may be considering the purchase of a ticket(s), to buy them through our Club. St Michaels’ have received an allocation to distribute in return for some discount on Board costs in 2024. .
