St Michaels’ Under 19 team were held to a draw by the perceived lesser lights of St James’ on Wednesday last at The Westside on a score line of 2-10 to 1-13. St James’ had the use of the wind in the first half and were level at 4 points each at the water break. Half time score was 8 points to 6 in favour of the Jimmies. Michaels’ put in their best quarter after the break and they turned the 2-point deficit in to a 2-9 to 1-9 lead at the 2nd water break. Michaels’ failed to shut out the game in the final quarter, and St James’ levelled with the last kick of the match. The wides tally of 13 will give the St Michaels’ squad something to work on before their next game. Team: PJ. Ward, J. Ruffley, C. Meagher (1) & M. Fogarty. C. Keane, E. Fiorentini & A. Flynn. C. The Under 13 team scored a huge win over Bearna B team last week and tonight will be away to Moycullen’s B team at 7pm. On Friday next The Under 15s are away to St James at 7:15, and the Club’s Junior A team are at home to Lettermore. On Saturday 24th when Galway hurlers play Waterford at 2pm, our Junior C team will be away to Bearna at 3pm. Later on, St Michaels’ Seniors will be playing Killanin at 7pm in the last of the Group games in the League. (Matches have been known to be cancelled because of Mass at this venue down the years!). Then on Sunday, no Club matches for St Michaels’ and we can all tune in to RTE or travel to Croke Park to support Eamonn Brannigan & the Galway footballers in the Connaught Final against Mayo. Monday 26th July is the start of Race Week and there are no less than 2 Junior matches scheduled. The Junior C’s are at home to Salthill on Wednesday evening and the junior A’s have a little trip to Rosmuc to play Na Piarsaigh. Tonights numbers in the Peter Curran Electric St Michaels’ GAA Club Lotto draw were: 08-15-21-22. There was no winner of the jackpot. Nelia Cahill of St Michaels @ Clubforce online won the match 3 prize. This weeks draw will take place for a jackpot of €2,700.00. Thank you for your support.
